The 2019 LGBTQ Pride Celebration marked 50 years since the 1969 Stonewall Riots.

On June 22, 2019, hundreds of thousands of attendees gathered in Downtown Houston for the city’s annual LGBTQ Pride Celebration—marking 50 years since Stonewall! Spectrum South passed out swag, snapped photos, and spread our mission at the celebration’s festival before heading to the always colorful nighttime parade. Danielle Benoit left her home in Katy, TX as a teenager to search for a place in Denton’s queer community. She received her B.A. in Radio, Television & Film from the University of North Texas. She now lives in Houston, where she is active in the city's queer community. Representation in the media is something that she is very passionate about. She aspires to create images and stories that queer people can identify with.
