• Research before leaving: Before going on a trip, research the destination and be aware of potential travel scams. This will help you avoid unnecessary costs and headaches while keeping yourself safe. 
• Stay connected: Keep your friends or family updated on your whereabouts and itinerary. In case something happens, they’ll know where to find you.
• Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, trust your gut and remove yourself from the situation. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so stay vigilant everywhere you go. 
• Be aware of your surroundings: Pay attention to your environment and be cautious when interacting with strangers. Also, remember to keep an eye on your belongings so they do not get stolen.
• Avoid using free Wi-Fi networks: It can be tempting to connect to free Wi-Fi when traveling, but these networks are usually unsecured and can make it easier for scammers to access your personal information. So, it’s best to use a virtual private network (VPN) or your phone’s data plan when accessing the internet.
